  12. 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Fresh coriander for garnish

 

Instructions:

  1. Start by heating the oil in an iron wok or a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add the cumin and coriander seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.
  2. Add the onions, and garlic and saute until they are translucent and lightly browned.
  3. Add the meat and sauté for a few minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Add the green pepper and tomatoes, along with the tomato paste, and mix well.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the spices are well blended.
  6. Add enough water to cover the meat and bring it to a boil.
  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the meat is cooked, garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with rice or naan.

 

Tips:

  1. You can use any meat of your choice, but traditionally lamb or beef is used in this recipe.
  2. Make sure you use an iron wok or a heavy-bottomed pot for this recipe, as it helps retain the heat and adds to the flavour.
  3. Adjust the amount of red chilli powder according to your taste. If you prefer less heat, use less red chilli powder.
