If you're a fan of spicy food, then Balti Chicken Tikka is a must-try recipe. This delicious Indian dish is full of flavour and perfect for those who enjoy spicy foods. Balti Chicken Tikka is typically made with boneless chicken that is marinated in a blend of spices, yoghurt, and lemon juice, then grilled or baked to perfection.

To start, you'll need to marinate the chicken. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 pounds of boneless chicken breast, 1 cup of plain yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of minced garlic, 2 teaspoons of grated ginger, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix well until the chicken is coated in the marinade, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible.

Once the chicken has marinated, you can either grill it or bake it in the oven. If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates. Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread it onto skewers, then grill for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred. If baking, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the chicken on the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly browned.

While the chicken is cooking, you can prepare the Balti sauce. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add 1 chopped onion and saute for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic, 2 teaspoons of grated ginger, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.

Next, add 1 cup of canned chopped tomatoes and 1/2 cup of water to the skillet, along with 1 chopped green bell pepper and 1 chopped red bell pepper. Stir well, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender.

Once the chicken is cooked and the sauce is ready, you can assemble the dish. Remove the chicken from the skewers and add it to the skillet with the sauce, stirring gently to coat the chicken in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through.

Serve the Balti Chicken Tikka hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and accompanied by rice or naan bread. Those who enjoy bold and spicy flavours are sure to enjoy this dish.
